When our chair massage team works at events at the NYC Javit’s Convention Center we often find people who are shallow breathers. Using Prana and other yoga breathing techniques we can help reduce their stress
When looking to help a client to release energy blocks tied to childhood emotional trauma, it is the breath that one must address before all else. This technique is best used by an advanced practitioner with training in mental health or counseling.
Have the client find a quiet place where they will not be disturbed.
Have the client sit it in a straight-backed chair, with both feet flat on the floor and their hands palms facing up and resting on their knees.
Have the client close their eyes and inhale and exhale long and slowly into their lower abdomen (not just their chest).
As they inhale, have them visualize that their bronchial tubes and lungs are slowly expanding. With each cycle of inhalation and exhalation have them visualize their lungs opening up wider.
