The Best #1 New York City Mobile Chair Massage Company Uses Aromatherapy Massage to Reduce Emotional Stress.

Chair Massage can be a powerful tool for integrating the for the four emotions. Every day we experience love and hate and an entire array of feelings, passions, sensibilities, and emotions.  In order to be healthy, you must express them. Our ability to be in touch with and express our emotions has a large part to play in the types of choices we make. Essential oils when combined with massage, is a precious tool for naturally and easily getting in touch with and healing locked feelings.

Categories of Oils for Aromatherapy Massage

Plant essences act in two ways.  Initially, the essence has either a soothing or an exciting effect on the nervous system.  Your senses react to the aroma of the essence as you would to the aroma of perfume or a flower.  In addition, the chemical composition of each individual essence has its own specific effect on the tissues and organs of the body.

Many emotional problems can be cared for with essential oils, particularly if they are detected and treated early.  Essences can be classified according to function including antispasmodics, antiseptics, stimulants, and sedatives. It is the stimulating and sedating oils that have the strongest effect on the emotions.

Stimulating oils – Cardamon, cedar, cinnamon, fennel, lemon, and ylang ylang. These are best when a person experiences a sense of immobility and is so depressed that they feel as if they can’t even get out of bed.

Sedating oils – Cajuput, chamomile, melissa, and peppermint are used to relieve insomnia and nervousness, and manic activity. The clinical study’s into the psychological effects of chamomile oil was carried out recently at Cambridge University and the University of North Wales which confirmed the oil’s soothing effect on the nervous system of humans.

Many of the essential oils used for depression are from flowers and fruits. Many aromatherapists report that any of the following oils may be used to combat depression: Allspice, ambrette, basil, bergamot, Canadian balsam, cassie, cedarwood, clary sage, grapefruit, helichrysum, jasmine, lavender, melissa, neroli, orange, patchouli, rose, rosemary, rosewood, thyme, violet, ylang ylang.

Though you may experience almost immediate benefits from aromatherapy when combined with therapeutic massage a consistent stabilization of the symptoms of depression is difficult to achieve in less than a few months.  Impatience and frustration can even aggravate the depression and make your client impatient, irritated, and anxiety-ridden. Be patient

Essential oils work synergistically.  That is, they complement and enhance each other’s properties when mixed.  For this reason, it is usually best to blend between two and four oils of desired properties and with aromas pleasing to the user.  Mixing more than four together will tend to reduce the strength of the mixture.

Other Ways of Using Aromatherapy in Association with Massage

Room dispersal. An essence can be effectively dispersed throughout a room by use of an atomizer.  Another good method is to buy a small heat lamp with a crucible.  The heat vaporizes the essence and disperses it throughout the room.  Heat lamps are available at many stores that sell essences.

Nebulizers mist microscopic essential oil droplets into the air quickly. You can also purchase aromalamps, aromatherapy candles and incense.

Don’t use aromatic blends every day nor diffuse for long periods of time as your sense of smell will begin “ignoring” the aroma, thereby, reducing the therapeutic effects.

Caution: Some aromatic oils can be ingested orally but generally speaking they are not the most effective ways of healing depression and other emotional problems. Pure, undiluted essential oils can also be used in a diffuser. Also, some essences are too powerful to be taken orally.  Consult a qualified specialist. When wearing full•strength Bergamot, be careful not to expose your skin to intense sunlight or ultraviolet light as skin discoloration may result

Hydrotherapy.    Take an Aromatherapy bath three times per week. This can be very helpful for depression. Mix the essential oils in both formulas below with a tablespoon of sweet almond oil. Fill the bath tub with warm water and then add the oil/ honey formula. Stir well using your hands. Sit in this bath for 20 to 30 minutes.

Hydrotherapy Formula 1. For general Stress:  To stimulate skin, relax tense, sore muscles and relieve headaches, fatigue and nervous tension:

Add 5•6 drops of Oils of chamomile, hyssop, lavendar, marjoram, chamomile,  and rosemary in a bath

Formula 2. For Mild Depression:  Aromatic Bath for Mild Depression

3 drops Lavender essential oil

3 drops Ylang ylang essential oil

2 drops Basil essential oil

2 drops Geranium essential oil

1 drop Grapefruit essential oil

Inhalation:  Sprinkle 6 to 8 drops of essence on a tissue or  in a bowl of steaming water. Inhale deeply three times.  Caution:  Close eyes when inhaling.  Inhaling the aroma of benzoin, eucalyptus, pine and spruce can relieve sinus congestion resulting from the common cold. Add three or four drops of essence to a basin of hot water.  Lean over the basin with a towel over your head to trap the vapors and inhale deeply several times.  Caution:  Not to be used by persons suffering from asthma.  Concentrated steam may cause choking. Also you can place on the edge of your pillow (1 or 2 drops).
