The Best and # 1  Corporate  NYC Chair Massage Program and Shiatsu, Swedish massage and Rolfing

The Best and # 1  Corporate  NYC Chair Massage Program and Shiatsu, Swedish massage, and Rolfing

Our company, The New York Chair Massage Company – www.eventschairmassage – uses many different techniques to reduce the stress of our business to wellness clients. Here are some:

The#1 chair massage cmpany in NYC

Rolfing: Originally known as structural integration, a system of deep muscular/connective tissue manipulation and massage, it was developed by Ida P. Rolf (1896-1979), a researcher at the Rockefeller Institute.  Rolf drew on her extensive knowledge of Hatha yoga to investigate the effect of structure on function.  Rolf’s ideas were that rather than coercing the body into submission, the body should be  encouraged to do what it really wants to do, work with, not against gravity.  Moshe Feldenkrais has stated “when Ida Rolf integrates structure, as nobody else can, she improves functioning….  Rolfing was a revealing and unforgettable experience for me.”

Shiatsu Massage:  Developed over the last three hundred years in Japan, in this bodywork system, (shiatsu means finger (shi) and pressure (atsu) practitioner presses traditional acupressure points but may use fingers, thumbs and palms to diagnose and to free up energy blockages.  Extensive attention is also focused on the interaction of expansive and contractile forces (yin and yang) that affect the flow of Chi (vital energy).

Swedish Massage: This is the system that most beginning students learn when they go too professional bodywork school. It’s five basic techniques or movements work muscles to relax tension and promote blood and lymphatic circulation, a superb combination of relaxation and healing.  It was created by Henri Peter Ling, from techniques that he learned in China and incorporated with Swedish gymnastics and exercise movements.  Swedish Massage consists of kneading (Petrissage), stroking (Effleurage), friction, tapping (Tapotement=percussion), and shaking or vibrating parts of the body.

When my team at the NYC Chair Massage Company – www.eventschairmassage.com – offers stress management programs we are always concerned with which come first; the body or the mind.
